Chat

Chat, short form of "chatter", is a mindless form of communications. Here on spacefem.com it is also an exciting way spend hours and hours saying nothing on-line to other members in an IRC channel. Spacefem.com members can join channel #spacefem on sorcery.net's IRC servers. This is where many strange things happen, as well as the occasional meaningful conversation.

Channel operators (ops) tend to be forum moderators as well as long-time members - having ops is entirely about trust; please do not ask to have ops.

IRC

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It's a fast, fun, free way to waste hours of time, so you know we're all about it.

Spacefem.com has a channel on an IRC server that you can enter into very easily, even if you've never done this IRC thing before (or heard of it).

Web-based

This changes a lot, but here's what we've got now:

go to this website http://www.mibbit.com/

In the middle of the page click the launch App link

on the next page type Spacefem in the the search box at the bottom.

on the result page click on the word Connect

IRC Clients

You can download an IRC client... but you also may already have one, without even knowing about it.

A lot of IRC clients are multi-service, or part of a multi-service package, meaning that you can run one program and use it to sign onto AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and whatever other chat identities you've got going on.

Here are some of our favorites:
