Spacefem.com

How'd she do it?

I get lots of e-mails asking how stuff around here is done. I can't go into detail about a lot of these things because it's taken me a long time to pick it all up, but I can tell you about the software tools and services I've used. I hope it serves as a decent starting point for someone out there!

The pages of spacefem.com were mostly created by hand using various Linux text editors (mostly kwrite and kate). I use basic HTML, CSS, and PHP.

The useless blobs were made by CriScO. I've added some interesting colors to the originals, but he did all the dirty work using my ideas/requests. CriScO rocks, yes!

The stick deaths were made by me using MS Paint and Animagic GIF. Animagic is a great little easy program that's cheap to register. I'd recommend it highly if you're a windows type person.

The graphics for this site were made using the GIMP. It's for Linux and is very cool like that (and free! weee!).

I've written a few tutorials for people wondering how to make basic web pages and quizzes, if you were wondering about that.

This site is hosted on a dedicated server that I'm leasing from RealWebHost. I offer hosting and web design services through my professional website at ShannonFeyer.com.
