Spacefem.com: The Chat Room
Our chat rooms are IRC-based, so there are many ways you can chat.

   Chatting with #Spacefem

There are three ways to connect to #spacefem:

  • using a standalone IRC client

This is the option most people prefer, because it allows you to pick your own client and customize it entirely to fit your personal needs. You can find a few IRC clients in the links section.

  • using the Java IRC applet

With the Java-based client you don't have to install anything on your computer. The only requirement is a webbrowser with support for Java 1.3 or higher. Most recent browsers already have this by default. When the applet doesn't seem to work in your browser, you can try to get the most recent version of Java here.

  • using the webbased IRC client

The webbased client allows you to connect when you're behind a firewall that blocks direct access to the IRC server.

The fastest coolest hippest way to chat is to simply point your IRC client this direction:
    server: irc.sorcery.net
    port: 9000
Type "join #spacefem" to get started.

   IRC Clients
So you're thinking... "what client?!" An IRC client is a program you download that links you to the IRC world. There are several clients to chose from... here are our favorites:
  • Trillian This is what most of our Windows users are on, from what I've heard. You can chat on many services, including IRC. Our sexy bud tweek even wrote a nice how-to guide to help you get started.
  • Miranda multi-service chat program for Windows
  • mIRC A compact windows IRC client
  • BitchX An IRC client for everyone... Windows, Linux, Mac, BSD, whatever
  • Kopete Multi-service chat agent for Linux
