About Spacefem.com

Lots of people sign the guestbook asking what the "big point" of this site is. As the one who submits us to search engines, I know how hard it is to get spacefem in a nutshell because there's a lot of different stuff on here, but basically it's just a place where I can be myself and anyone who is anything like me, or anything like who I was, or anything like who I will be, can feel happy. There's dumb quizzes and useless crud that basically serves to make fun of other websites. There's a forum that lots of internet addicts call their home. There's information on feminism and women's rights. Really spacefem.com is whatever you want it to be.

About Me

I'm 28 years old, I live in Kansas. I'm an electrical engineer. I work in the aircraft industry. I could tell you more but then I'd have to kill you.

spacefem and sexy T38s I'm a computer geek. It started when I was in high school with just being a "geek groupie" of sorts. After that I found the courage to learn things for myself. This website started in 1998 but so many things have happened since then, you know? I build my own computers now. I run Linux. I used to think it was for elitist nerds, but after using it and seeing how far it's come in its relatively short lifespan, I'm much more impressed than I thought I'd be (so now, I'm an elitist nerd).

If I look tall in these pictures, it's because I am. 1.84 meters, in fact. Hey, there's got to be something freakish about everybody or the world would get boring.

I like to sew, play my guitar, ride my mountain bike, and go running. I was a high jumper from grades 7-12 and for two years in college so staying in shape is sort of a reflex. I like going to the library, grinding coffee beans, decorating my apartment, running this website.

I've been quite active on livejournal since 2001, so if you want my life story, head that way.

How the website was won

This website's been around since 1998, slowly evolving into what you see here. I do not use website editing software so don't ask me about that, the pages of spacefem.com were mostly created by hand using various Linux text editors (mostly kwrite and kate). I use basic HTML, CSS, and PHP.

The useless blobs were made by CriScO. I've added some interesting colors to the originals, but he did all the dirty work using my ideas/requests. CriScO rocks, yes!

The stick deaths were made by me using MS Paint and Animagic GIF. Animagic is a great little easy program that's cheap to register. I'd recommend it highly if you're a windows type person.

The graphics for this site were made using the GIMP. It's for Linux and is very cool like that (and free! weee!).

I've written a few tutorials for people wondering how to make basic web pages and quizzes, if you were wondering about that.
